MAG provides management and consulting services for IPAs/PHOs engaged in or looking to enter into pay-for-performance programs. Services are tailored to the terms of the incentive program. Examples of services include:

  • Online, secure cost and utilization reports at the physician and physician organization level
    • Reports track trends over time and identify actions to be taken to improve quality scores
    • Reports include performance measures for diabetes, asthma, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, or other measures as required by the incentive program.
    • Pharmacy reports include generic dispensing rate, top ten prescriptions written, top ten prescriptions by cost, total prescriptions for NSAs, PPIs, anti-depressants and statins

  • Access to low-cost or free e-prescribing system, a web-based patient registry, and a web portal that securely links physicians to patients and each other for referrals, consults, and labs

  • Consulting and implementation of Patient-Centered Medical Home competencies. MAG created a  toolkit for success with the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Physician Group Incentive Program that includes over 100 tools such as, staff training PowerPoint slides, sample policies and procedures, patient handouts, physician screening tools and community resources

MAG currently provides services relating to pay-for-performance programs within larger managed care contracts as well as independent pay-for-performance programs. Smaller offices and groups that would find it difficult to participate in incentive programs on their own may join the Consortium of Independent Physician Associations (CIPA). CIPA is a pay-for-performance network formed by MAG to assist physician organizations across Michigan in participating in incentive opportunities.
